... but definitely not away. However, I've decided to change my name and since I am unwilling to spend money on a random hobby that won't get me anywhere I created a new LJ since this is the easiest option.

The reason why I want to change my name seems obvious once you took a glance at it. I don't know what I was thinking two years ago, but I am definitely not on that page any more. As for now, "AubreyDeschanel" sounds all kinds of wrong and over the past few days I just got really tired of it.

Basically nothing changes except for the layout and the name, but I just wanted to let you know...

Since today is the 8th anniversary of Aaliyah’s death, I decided to dedicate this post to her. I remember how I first took notice of her when Try Again came out and how by a random note about her death on the radio I was literally left in disbelief. She definitely left a huge void and in a time where singer of her generation where trained to be this always smiling, bubbly girl next door type of characters, she stood out for showing true personality and not something a record company created to earn as much money as possible. Such a shame she had to go so soon…
